Review by Chris S

2 stars This is Daryl Stuermer's smoothest fusion sounding studio album. Not as raw and energetic sounding as the follow up album Go! but it is still an enjoyable experience. There are some really great tracks like Zanzibar and Midnight Traveller. Incidentally the last track The Least You Can Do ( much better sounding here) written by DS but also covered by Phil Collins on his Testify solo album. Overall two opposite spectrums of sounds. Some very good material and some not so strong fare. Smooth fusion is the best description for Retrofit but there are other albums I would recommend first from his catalogue if you are new to his music. Two and a half stars.
