PROG REVIEWER
4 stars Tribute is essentially Steve Hackett's tribute to the great Andres Segovia (who I've honestly never cared for), playing some of Segovia's favorite compositions. The styles of composition here are not of Hackett's creation, obviously, but are tracks ranging from baroque to 20th century Spanish styles, all of which Hackett executes with precision and passion both. His takes on these compositions are original though, and he often uses a softer touch than more well known classical guitarists, and it definitely gives all of these compositions a uniquely Steve Hackett flavor. This album is great for the classical guitar aficionados who also happen to be a big Steve Hackett fan. You honestly cannot go wrong considering the player and the selections being played.
