3 stars This is not by any means the best Jack Bruce album, or the most progressive, but this was the album that got me interested in his solo work. There are some great rock songs on this album, and it seems that the CD mostly alternates between these songs and the not as good. My favorites here are Life On Earth, which feature some astounding guitar work by Vernon Reid, No Surrender, Hey Now Princess, and Obsession. The album then goes into a lull for a few songs, until A Question of Time, the most prog song on the album.

There is certainly enough good material to make this worth owning, it's just a bit too light on the prog. But hey, listening to Bruce's bass in any context is always a pleasure.
