4 stars Many fans think there are not world-class chamber avant bands in Eastern Europe. They are wrong - there are such bands. At least- few, and one of them is Polish Maestro Trytony for sure.

Band grew up from early 90-s rock band Trytony, led by one of most capable Polish rock guitarist Tomasz Gwincinski. In late 90-s Tomasz Gwincinski found his interest to classic music, started to write music for theatre, and as a result re-built his old rock band in new line up, combining his guitar abilities with classically trained cellist Renata Suchodolska, flautist/keyboardist Tomasz Pawlicki and new rhythm section.

New band started playing chamber mix of avant jazz, neo-classic and fusion. On this their debut album listener can hear what high-class musicians they are! Common atmosphere is very chamber, in moments listener can feel as being on neo-classic concert, but in a few minutes this illusion will be exploded by scratching electric guitar attacks. Guest brass section is very chamber as well, but rhythm section is quite jazzy. Interetsing, that all this different components successfully build very monolith musical construction.

I can strongly recommend this "Polish best kept secret" to any Art Zoyd or Universe Zero fan - you wouldn't be disappointed! BTW, band's second (and last to time) album is even more chamber and dark!

My rating is 4+!
