2 stars Leftovers from the previous season

As the clever title indicates, this six track EP features recordings that were "left over" from the Garden Of The Moon sessions. But it also features some new remixes of older, previously released material. Only two of the six tracks will be of genuine interest for most fans, as they were not available elsewhere (until the release of the 2CD special edition version of Garden Of The Moon). These two songs are Leaving Stardust and This Is Not America. The latter is a cover of a David Bowie song, while the former is, as far as I have been able to find out, a Lana Lane original (but I'm not certain of this, it sounds somehow familiar). Both of these are rather straightforward, melodic Pop rockers. Enjoyable, but far from essential. The rest are, as I said, remixes of older songs, two of which originally appeared on Garden Of The Moon, and two from the 1995 debut album Love Is An Illusion.

A release like this is almost per definition for fans only. And now the material has been made available elsewhere, this has been reduced to a collectors item. Most fans will be fully satisfied with the aforementioned special edition versions of the excellent Garden Of The Moon album (together with the rest of the full-length albums of this great band).
