1 stars BUCKETHEAD - PIKE 78 37th album out of 60 in 2014 and 107th overall All sounds brought to you by Buckethead and all instrumental This one has 4 tracks that clock in at 30:40 This one has never been given a secondary title All tracks remain untitled

Track 1 (8:57) starts out with clean Pink Floydian space guitar and then is joined by a very slow bass and drums. Sounds like one of those solos off of "Wish You Were Here" but slower but picks up steam a little after three minutes. The solo becomes bluesier as well. It's a nice slow burner but really never goes anywhere. Great background music but not much else

Track 2 (5:45) also begins with slow clean guitars but this is less space rock and more like those slow bluesy tracks from similar PIKEs. This one never really goes anywhere either and is quite boring. Yawn

Track 3 (4:39) is slightly different. It's slightly more upbeat in the percussion but has a different type of high register guitar lick that repeats. This one is a bit more interesting as the riffs are at least interesting and the track is a bit more energetic. It sounds a little Celtic folk overall actually but becomes fairly repetitive

Track 4 (11:16) begins with clean guitar and a riff with a slow tempo, slow bass and only cymbal action for percussion. It creates a melody and then repeats it eleven minutes too long

Nope. I hate those boring mellow PIKEs. Some are decent but this one has zero variety
