24 DAYS TIL HALLOWEEN: SCREAMING SCALP

PIKE 183 - 24 DAYS TIL HALLOWEEN: SCREAMING SCALP is the 82nd album released by BUCKETHEAD in 2015 and the 8th installment in the countdown to HALLOWEEN. This is another dark ambient horror soundtrack that clocks in at 29:48 and contains 9 tracks that are all called "Screaming Scalp." Oh My GOD! WHY IS MY SCALP SCREAMING?!!!!! Once again all the tracks run together so consider it another horrific half hour in BUCKETHEADLAND.

This starts with oscillating high pitched sounds and then some kind of bouncing plastic ball sounds emerge with a rather dark stringy riff appearing in the background here and there. You guessed it, this is another parade of random sounds with only scant traces of what most individuals would call proper music. This is ghostly and once again designed for a haunted house. Perhaps the Adam's family would find this suitable for their holiday feast music.

Once again a very effective and decently done horror soundtrack. BUCKETHEAD has a grandiose sense of drama with his ability to juxtapose sonic textures, bizarre rhythms and percussions. This is the kind of stuff that Daedalus did all the way back in 1974 with "Materiale Per Tre Esecutori E Nastro Magnetico." It's the ultimate surreal experience with nothing to hold onto. It is an avant-garde free-for-all but the emotional response is effective. This is some scary bleep.
