4 stars Tuatha De Danann weren't releasing anything since 5 years, in the meantime the frontman Bruno Maia released his solo debut. Every fan actually thought that the band was done when, in 2009, they unexpectedly toured unplugged.

When a band of folk-metal goes unplugged, the folk part emerges, but honestly I don't feel huge differences with the electric versions of their most famous songs. For those who aren't familiar with this band, hearing Maia introducing the second song in Portuguese after Trova di Danu', that's sung in Gaelic, may be disorienting, but Tuatha De Danann, despite the celtic inspiration, is a Brasilian band. ...and what a band.

As for the last Clannad live at the Christ Church Cathedral, this is a collection of the best songs of the band's repertoire and a good introduction to their music for who hasn't heard them before. Of course, the song versions have a different feeling respect to the metal studio version, but the progressions are the same as well as the vocals, and also in the studio versions there are fiddle, flute, bhodran and so on.

This live is also a DVD and some parts of it are available on youtube.

This is a must have for the fans of the band and an excellent introduction for the newbies who like the genre.

To be clear, this is not to be confused with Pagan Metal. It's a legacy of its own. Recommended.
