PROG REVIEWER
3 stars One of the lesser known prog metal acts coming from Italy is Stramonio with 3 albums released so far. The second album from 2002 named The mother of invention issued at Frontiers is probably considered their best and at same level with next one aswell very well recived by the prog metal fans. I particulary find this album to be their most acomplished work, where the musicianship is tight and compositions are quite decent in places even great. This is typical release for prog metal realm, where the guitars are dueling with the keyboards in a nice manner. Complicated yet melodical passages are all over the album, where listner can easely find that this band had potential in this field, somehow remaning in the shadow of other named from prog metal scene from Italy. Enjoyble from start to finish with high points on pieces like Desert night or Loose from a dam. Similar with lets say another respected band from this field Empty Tremor also from Italy. 3.5 stars for this one.
