4 stars This is a project from a young and talented multi-instrumentalist, a kind of album that has matured over a long period of time and has finally emerge recently. The result is 2 hours music of symphonic prog and fusion prog that has a strong songwriting quality. It's hard to believe that this album is the product of someone that has started this project at 16 years old. The first track "Journey" is an homage to Tony Banks of Genesis with some delicate piano lines. "Jungle Ride" is where Jarod brings his own style and show how versatile he can be with his synths and keys, there's some really cool stuff here!. We don't suffer the lack of guitar in this album, it's how strong is the rest of instrumentation. There a lot of fast bombastic fast pace music here that could remind you ELP, but it doesn't sound quite like it. Jarod can really play fast on his keys and if it's recorded drums, it's sound good. The second part of an album brings more classical and jazz tones with some sax and strings arrangements to give more color to the music. The final 41 minutes track "Sixth Dissonance" is showing a more chaotic and crazy mix of music style that will keep your attention until the end of this long journey. I suggest you listen to this album in 2 takes to fully appreciate the quality of the music. I would be surprised that this musician can pull another album of this caliber in the next year, but we can only hope so.
