2 stars If the appearance of the first INDEXI album in the form of a compilation was justified by need to gather all of their succesful singles and offer them to the (prog)rock audience, while waiting for the right time to record a studio album, the second compilation album issued again under the title "Indexi" was a bit of dissapointment in comparison. Around mid-1973 the band had changed their label from Zagreb-based Jugoton to Sarajevo-based Diskoton, but what was more important they also changed the style of their music. They traded progressive experimentation with more commercial, pop/AOR, easy listening hit singles, thus gaining more popularity among the mainstream pop scene. This album brings their Diskoton singles issued from 1973-76, some of which are good examples of "progressive pop" songs like "Ti si mi bila naj, naj", "Moja Hana" and "Bacila je sve niz rijeku". On the other hand there are some real mediocre rock'n'roll tracks like "Pogresan broj" and "I tvoje ce proci" followed by downright stupid pop songs like "Stani malo...". There are even occasional hints of country-rock in "Putovi" and folk-rock in "Kad se hoce...". Variety of styles presented here would not have been such a problem itself, if it had not been the weak quality of the songs. This way, we got a negligable album, whose major quality lies in the cover design and in the rarity nature of its release. Indeed, if my memory serves me well, I never saw this album in reality ever since I have been collecting music (end of 1970s)! Given the best tracks from here are available on many recent CD compilations, this album must be judged as being for collectors only.
