PROG REVIEWER
2 stars I think I'm one of the few purists here that can tolerate ASIA. I had even given the album _Astra_ a 4 star rating for Mandy Meyer's guitar work. This performance is just awful. Pat Thrall is a great guitarist in his own right, but he just does not fit into ASIA. You get the feeling ASIA would've have been more comfortable at the pub then on stage. There's nothing progressive about the performance and it sounds rather pedestrian. Carl Palmer sounds like he's in a straight jacket...the feeling one gets while trying to defend themselves with fistycuffs while sleeping one's hands. The audio here is rather flat and the keyboards muffled. Vocally, John Wetton is ok - but nothing inspiring. Stick to the 25th anniversary DVD. It pulls out all the stops.
