"The Owl's Egg cassette was released in 1993 in small editions with each copy being subject to obsessive revision, in some cases with different cover art and titles. Thus (as with most BSI releases) there was never a definitive version. This reissue reflects the most "final" of the copies made over 30 years ago.

Owl's Egg is a deep soundtrack for ritual levitation recorded in Syracuse NY on the eve of our first great migration to the Arizona desert, so the vibe was restless, urgent, and full of dreams. The recording sessions were like taking dictation from the future... with luck, some of that energy will translate to other brains."
