Tracks 1, 2, 3 and 4 were recorded in real time without overdubs or multi-tracking. Track 5 is a performance loaded into the Macintosh and played back controlling the four synthesizers. This performance was mixed in real time direct to digital stereo, like the other pieces. All of the pieces, with the exception of track 2 are improvisational in nature. These are constructed around a basic framework of melodic, harmonic and rhythmic shapes, and aided by extensive use of synchronized digital delays. All of the pieces use a single or multiple level of delay, in sync to each individual tempo.
