If you heard about Pendragon but have never heard their music, this is a excellent
starting point (actually, this was my case). It includes one track per album up to
and including The Masquerade Overture. The first album is featuring here through a
unreleased live version of The Black Knigh, which is very similar to the original
one. The booklet contains covers of all albuns (and two EPs) including Not Of this
world, and a brief text explaining each one, a nice touch for newcomers like me at
the time. The album obviously has not all their best material , it would take at
least a double CD for that, but on the other hand, you can go no wrong with this
tracklist. Only classic stuff here, top notch songs and, at least one classic
underground should-have-been hit, "Sister Bkuebird". The guy who chose those tunes
really knew how to pick up some of the most representative pieces of the band through
its long career. After getting all their albuns and singles I foud out that no
compilation could have been better than this one in one single CD. I wish I could say
the same for most of the best of CDs I have found around... Highly recommended to
anyone who wants to be introduced to this fantastic group and\or if you want to have
an overall look in Pendragon's career without having to buy all their stuff.
