3 stars Music Station is a progressive metal band coming from Bulgaria, formed in 2002 they manage to release only a single album in 2003 named Shaping, issued at small label UBP. FRom first passages , their music remind me of DT, the solos, the voice is almost a refection of what the americans done in that period (Six degrees era). The music is varied and quite complex in many parts, with some great keyboards, but with all that I needed some time to get in their music. I don't know why , maybe sometimes the instrumental passages are little forced and without original or inventive parts, hopefully are only here and there, the whole album is pretty ok. The fact that they are diffrent from DT is that Music Station is more song orientated band, a thing that is obvious on some pieces like on Shaping or Painting souls. As a whole a good band that for some reasons never made it in prog metal circles. They are really on the same level with another known prog metal band from this country Pantommind. So in the end 3.5 a good album towards great, shows that bulgarian prog metal scene is spreading the wings, but is more to work to become at least, a force in Europe. Ten varied tracks that desearve a wider recognition from prog metal listners. The cover art is excellent. CD available at Musea records.
