Quiet Earth biography
Founded in Dortmund, Germany in 2012

Started in the 80s by the guitarist Roland Bischof and the bassist Andreas Kuhlmann, the project, influenced by the bigs of the 70s like GENESIS, YES and PINK FLOYD, was abandoned after few years without releasing anything. It was only around 2008 that the two reunited and decided to give it another try.
The band is currently formed by five members and finally released its debut album at the end of 2018. Despite the many influences, the band's style is not strictly tied to any of them.
Better later than never they say.

Quiet Earth Neo-Prog

Review by Warthur

4 stars Quiet Earth are apparently a German group who originally honed their craft in the 1980s, trying to spark in their native Germany a neo-prog wave comparable to that which was coming out of the UK at the time. They apparently did not get that far, but after following the lead of many neo-prog also-rans who've reunited lately to have another stab at it, Quiet Earth seem to be finally coming into their own. This is an album replete with fantastical stories which puts me in mind of the more neo-oriented moments on Crucible's Tall Tales, though with perhaps more influence form Genesis, Pendragon, and early Marillion at play. Very good.

Quiet Earth Neo-Prog

Review by Houston Prog

5 stars This is a fantastic Neo Prog Album. If you like Genesis, Yes, Pendragon, Camel or even Mike Oldfield, you will love this album. The first track The Apparition is very late Genesis in style with heavy guitar keyboards and Roland Paroth doing an excellent job on the vocals. The next track is The Dragon which is more of folk music in the first part, then we have men fighting with swords? only for it to finish with some classic neo prog music. Track 3 is Every Light Went Out, this track re minds me of Camel in there early days. Track 4 is by far the best track on the whole album, The Butterfly is pure back to the old days of Pendragon and Genesis, with lush guitars and keyboards it doesn't get much better than this. Track 5 Pictures is a much softer track, which then goes into more traditional prog rock. Track 6 My Dear Kate is the most commercial rock music on this album. The last track is Colours which in my opinion steels a wee bit from Mike Oldfield, but is still a great prog song. Over all this is an excellent Neo Prog Album 5 stars
Thanks to octopus-4 for the artist addition. and to Quinino for the last updates
