THOUGHT BUBBLE

A pretty deserved band name. THOUGHT BUBBLE is the child of United Kingdom based Chris Cordwell (keyboards, synths) and Nick Raybould (percussion). Since 2020 they are releasing music with proper soundtrack character and some obvious influences coming from Krautrock respectively Kosmische Musik fields. This wonderful album 'Around' is something special, brimful of ideas and interesting soundscapes, very appealing. Hereby Cordwell appears to be a synthesizer wizzard really, caring for quite different tones, impressions and moods. Raybould's acoustic drumming often enough arranges a special monotic Krautrock drive. I'm sure this comes with deliberation, not because of any technical deficits. And they definitely have enriched the sound with some nice guitar playing provided by Shaun Bailey.

The opening track The Waves comes in with a strong oriental, Middle Eastern flair as well as synthesizer imitated saxophone respectively clarinet. Beatwave hurries up backed by a Kraftwerk similar rhythm and orchestral alike strings. I have to confess, overall this is implemented with inspiration and really flashing ideas. The mysterious Möbius Trip then turns into the next different mood. The intriguing synth loop, Pablo Raybould's recitative voice and above all Shaun Bailey's freestyled soloing guitar, that's a simply fantastic composition! While equipped with some imaginative skills, you definitely are able to follow the Rat Race later. The cosmic Devoider finally closes the bubble to a really rounded issue. Recommended! With 'Around' THOUGHT BUBBLE have managed to create an extraordinary production.
