Sprain biography
Sprain, which was founded in 2018 by Alex Kent and April Gerloff in Los Angeles, California, is an experimental rock band with post-rock qualities that was inspired by slowcore. It released two studio albums, As Lost Through Collision (2020) and The Lamb As Effigy Or Three Hundred And Fifty XOXOXOS For A Spark Union With My Darling Divine (2023), otherwise known as The Lamb as Effigy, as well as the EP Sprain in 2018. A month after The Lamb as Effigy was released (in September, 2023), Sprain announced that it was disbanding.

Musically Sprain can be compared to the experimental rock band Swans, which is included in Post-Rock, to music by Avant-Prog acts like Squid, black midi, music by Glenn Branca, and the avant-garde metal band Ashenspire.
