Tau Ceti biography
Founded in São Paulo, Brazil in 1988 - Disbanded in 1993 - Reformed between 2000-2004 and again in 2019

TAU CETI is a brazilian instrumental symphonic progressive rock band, from Sao Paulo, whose tendency brings back the style of the classic progressive groups of the 70's, like Emerson, Lake & Palmer and U.K. The musicians : Eduardo DElboux (keyboards), Ze do Baixo (bass) and Ricardo Stuani (drums).

The band was formed in 1988, and its première CD, "Tau Ceti", was released by Faunus Records/Brazil in 1995, three years after the recordings sessions. It includes nine D'Elboux's compositions, three individual solos of the three members of the band and an arrangement of Bach's Toccata in D minor.

TAU CETI had been inactive from 1993 to 1996, but D'Elboux was returned in a solo career in 1997. Between 1999 and 2001, he played with the neo-prog brazilian band MOONSHADOW, and now he is reorganizing TAU CETI for a future CD.

4 stars Tau Ceti ' a Jos' D'Elboux band project.A great keyboardist in S'o Paulo(S.P.) Brazil, since 80's age. Of course its the second great progressive work of Tau Ceti. The EL&P are great influences here, but D"elboux has a classical music knowledge. Of course we can hear some arrangements on Beethoven pieces (like Trace of Rick Van Der Linden) about this album. Great music and performances.I think one of best CDS project of last times in our country I know D"elboux like musician and also, keyboardist since long time ago. The conditions in Brazil are very bad for high culture and classical or progressive rock.A lot of nonsense peeople because the low education. But our projects are truly good in musical approach,as soon as ALPHA III , Sagrado Cora''o da Terra, Quantum, etc... If you are looking for a great music like Trace or REfugee here are a great album!! Best wishes!!

3 stars Here is a Brasilian trio (D'Elboux on keyboards, Zé do Baixo on bass and Ricardo Stuani on percussion) that delivers an eponymous debut CD (13 tracks). It is keyboard driven progrock, the songs sound fluent featuring some Clive Nolan like play (early Pendragon). The band also plays a rendition from the known JS Bach work "Toccata in D-Fuga" (pleasant synthesizer runs), in the vein of other fine renditions like Sky and Kajem. Unfortunately the recording quality is not optimal, the keyboards could have sound more powerful and lush if they were better recorded. Nonetheles, a fine first effort.
