Reminder biography
In the summer of 1995, Nicklas Sandström (vocals, guitars), Anders Alstrin (electric guitars) and Tobias Ljungkvist (bass, backing vocals) started working on a collection of songs. Soon Mattias Olsson (percussion) completed the line-up. 6 demos, 70 gigs later their first mini album was released by Swedish indie label Exergy Music. Former members: Thomas Johnson (Hammond B3, Mellotron 400, grand piano and other assorted keyboards), Mattias Olsson (drums, percussion, keyboards, accordion, stylophone)

The first ep simply called 'Reminder' was recorded during the height of the cold Swedish winter 1998/1999 at various locations around Stockholm. The prestigious EMI-studio, the bands rehearsal room and at the members own homes. The reason for this was to keep the recording close at heart with the band and to let everyone record in an environment that would allow all the members to feel comfortable while recording. It was released in June 1999. The second ep called 'Half Empty' was already recorded during that summer. It showed a more instrumented Reminder enhanced with Stringquartets, Marimbas and Stylophones, when it was finally released in January 2000. The band tried to keep the music unique and personal, so each composition has an intense atmosphere and original melodies.

The 'Creativity'-ep was released in November 2000 shortly after their first gig in England. From the catchy opener 'Scared' to the closing title track, Reminder proved to have created their own style. All four songs ended up on their first full-length-CD entitled 'Broken Tone' which was released in January 2001. The band has always been interested in experimenting with instrumentation to create a special blend of sounds and atmospheres. Based around acoustic guitar and vocals the material has grown over the four years the band had been together. Eventually REMINDER concentrated on the writing of new material. 2002 found them recording these new songs.
