Franco Mussida biography
Franco Mussida: Guitar and mind (with Franz Di Cioccio) of PFM, released two solo albums and one O.S.T. with Franz Di Cioccio. Since the 60's he is a protagonist of Italian music and one of the most appreciated Italian guitarists. With PFM he had (and it still has) the luck to play and be appreciated all over the world.

In 1984 the its a lot of study on the guitar come put to fruit. In fact it opens (like a founder) the CPM, Centro Professione Musica, that in short becomes one of the most important Italian music schools (with beyond 800 students). Other experience, this time in the world of the voluntary service, carry to be based on it also the MCS, Musica Contro la Sofferenza (Music Against the Sofference), with the purpose to carry music in the suffering center (community of recover, prisons) also thanks to the composition of a "Sinfonia Popolare Per 1000 chitarre" (Popular Symphony For 1000 Guitars), represented in a lot of towns between 1997 and 1999.

Solo work, after the O.S.T. (with Franz Di Cioccio) of "Attila Flagello Di Dio" (1983) is continued in 1991 with "Racconti Della Tenda Rossa". It is almost totally acoustic album and very simple with guests like Gianni Nocenzi (Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso), Angelo Branduardi and Mauro Gnecchi (Biglietto Per L'Inferno). The second, totally solo album, "Accordo (1995), is an album for synths and is an ambient music album.

Franco Mussida has an excellent collection of guitars. In fact on PFM site are listed, between acoustic, classic and electric, quite 22!!!

Andrea "Mandrakeroot" Salvador.

1 stars Please, don't by this record. What kind of music is this? One tone in 10 minutes? I heard that this album are made when Mussida see a paint in a museum but I thik that paint just have one colour. If this music are progressive I whant my friend Quim Barreiros in Portuguese Prog Folk list because he have a double sense in this lirics and all University Academic partys invited this musician and have lot of fun, "and I like very much him". I see Mussida this year in PFM concert in Gouveia and was a great concert and I realy apreciate PFM music but this, are a insane work for this excelent musician. I give one star because we can't give zero. Please don't by this album.

1 stars What a disappointment!

Text on back cover warns you (in Italian) that it is ambient music having nothing common with PFM style. But how could I know it ordering CD in online store?

One 45-minutes long track on ''Accordo'' presents itself only some oscillator tones, not often varied though. Fans of Brian Eno minimalistic works will probably catch some positive vibrations. Unfortunately I've failed.

I don't understand what moved Franco Mussida to make this record and who it is addressed to. Obviously not to PFM fans. The album you can easily live without. Can't recommend it to anyone. Avoid even if you can get it for free.

Thanks to micky for the artist addition.
