Don't Look Back biography
DON'T LOOK BACK was formed in 1999 by Charles, Ren, Teuta and Gregg. They self produced a demo tape and after some live shows garnered attention from Sound Supersonik which is a small independent label. The band recorded "Drunk in Your Arms" in three days and it was a limited release of 1,000 copies in 2002.

The next few years DON'T LOOK BACK toured extensively sharing the stage with bands such as A SILVER MOUNT ZION, KARATE, TANTRUM, ANDREW BIRD, CYANN & BEN, BERG SANS NIPPLE to name a few. They signed a contract with the label Noise Digger and in the winter of 2005, they released their second album "Brighter."

They toured in Europe France, Spain, Portugal, and Belgium to promote "Brighter" with bands like ALEC EMPIRE, MONO, FIRECRACKERS, ALAMO RACE TRACK, H-BURNS, DOPPLER, and PUNISH YOURSELF. After some issues they are no longer with the label Noise Digger.

The band is working on their third album.

They were approved by the Post Rock Team and are very highly recommended.

— First review of this album —
2 stars Debut album by the French post-rock band (their name reminds me great "Boston" album). Not too many post-rock band from France are all around.

The band plays usual post-rock twin-guitar based music, melodic, melancholic, with French/English spoken vocals in some places. But mostly instrumental. It's interesting - they don't have drummer at all: possibly rhythm samples are good enough for this repetitive music.

Comparing with many similar bands all around, they are somewhere in between. Similar to bigger part of competitors, they play competent music, but faceless enough, as mostly all of them. Energetic guitars sound isn't bad, but spoken voices don't add too much to make the music more different.

Not much below average genre's level, they have nothing too much to attract listener. But could be interesting for post-rock fanatics (if they still exist).

Just 2,5 from me.
