Arkan biography
ARKAN is a tech/extreme prog metal band originating from France. They were formed in 2005 as a 5-piece band melodic death metal outfit. It can be argued that their music is just that, but being that there is the use of clean vocals as well as songs longer than the typical length, they can be considered progressive metal.

Their debut EP released in 2006 titled "Burning Flesh". This showed the 5-piece band making solid music, but their first full-length album is really what all the hype surrounds. They released their first full-length album in 2008 titled "Hilal". The average song length was about 6 minutes, and it showed their potential as a progressive metal band. This band is very impressive, and I hope to see more of them in the future!
