Nu & Apa Neagra biography
Nu & Apa Neagra is a Romanian group influenced by Krautrock and Kosmische space music as well as traditional Romanian and Turkish music. These influences come together to create a wonderfully mystic sounding stew of tripped out world folk, cosmic drones, and avant-garde, psychedelic improvisions. Highly recommended to fans of outsider music.

Nu & Apa Neagra Krautrock

Review by chaos8619

4 stars Nu si Apa Neagra is probably the best experimental band from Romania at this moment. Their music is an eclectic combination of electronic music, ambient, krautrock, psychedelic, central-asian and romanian folk music. The best way to understand how this combination might sound, is to assist on a live show of the band, where their creativity is on full scale (usually, the entire concert is a two hour long improvisation on different themes playing more than 20 different instruments and exploring a lot of different sounds). On Omag album, you can hear a part of their creativity, divided in different songs. The music sometime is very dense with a lot of traditional instruments and electronic sounds, most of them without any formal structure. This noise might be too difficult for a traditional progressive rock fan but is very pleasing for a fan of experimental and psychedelic music and for those who want to hear some new and original music. For certain this album along with Om from Negura Bunget are the most originals and creative albums from the last 30 years from a romanian rock band and is an excellent addition to an open mind progressive rock listener.
