Purity biography
Purity is one of the most intristing bands from Romania in progressive metal field. The band was formed around Bogdan Vera in 2005 who plays at almost every instrument(arrangements, synths, guitars, vocals, lyrics, concept, programming) minus the vocal parts who mare done by Will Shaw. The band is inspired a lot by bands like Dream Theater, Ayreon and even in places some Rush elements are present here and there and focuses on science fiction and fantasy themes.. Purity release first album in 2008 named Tales of Different Worlds. The album so far was release only in digital form and can be downloaded officially from their official site. A very promissing debut that for sure will please every prog metal listner. The main man of the band Bogdan Vera works now on a new album with this band along with featuring singers Will Shaw, Cosmin Aionita, Ashavari Joshi and Mike Gorham. We all hope this new album will be as good as this one, then Purity is on a good path to recognition, at least in eastern Europe.

— First review of this album —
3 stars A progressive metal band from my country - Romania, a pretty rare thing if you ask me. In Romania , this scene is inexistent, and I can count on one hand the progressive metal bands from here. One of them is Purity formed in 2005 around Bogdan Vera, who handle almost all instruments from here, the programming, arrangements, synths, guitars, lyrics, concept,, minus the voice. First time I hered this album, fiew month ago, I was really surprised, in a good way. If the instrumental passages are ok, even great in places, the voice of Will Shaw is the unintristing moment here, not bad but too unpolished, and without many intristing moments, I prefer the voice of Cosmin Aioniţă from the last piece The flaw of man, he has a better range and fits more in this kind of music then Shaw. Anyway both prestations are ok. Now, what stroke me were the first two piece, instrumental ones, Passageway, brilliant piece, I gues one of the best instrumental pieces I ever heared on a progressive metal album and Prelude to Flowerbloom, again top notch. Close to Dream Theater in manner of interpration, Purity delivers a solid album, with catchy tunes and some marvelous instrumental passages whre guitar interluded excellent with the keys. The programing for the drums are ok, almost unnoticed in places this sound, not a bad thing for sure, but I hope in the future they will have a real drum set instead. So, a good album, towards great, a pleasent surprise for me, and for sure for many who will listen to this album. For now is only available in digital format from their offcial site for download. I hop I will hear more good thing about this Purity because is one of the better bands from my country. Good all the way.3-3.5 for sure. From their myspace I understand they prepare for a new album and aswell some members will be added to this formation of trio already established, the female Ashavari Joshi and Mike Gorham. I hope they will release an album at least as good as this one. Good one for sure.
Thanks to UMUR and b_olariu for the artist addition.
