New Century Classics biography
NEW CENTURY CLASSICS was formed in May 2006 in Poland by a group of friends and expats from different parts of the world. Based around a mutual love of good music and the desire to fill their time and their hands with as many instruments as possible. The band consists of two Poles, a Polish-American and a Polish-Canadian hybrid, and an Italian who's decent at banging on things with sticks. Always experimenting, new century classics is constantly acquiring new sounds and new instruments (when they can afford it).

During few years they played many gigs (with such bands as CASPIAN, PORT-ROYAL, etc), released several recordings. Their music is strongly influenced by classical music melodic post-rock, rich in strings sounds.

Band members:

Dana Dramowicz - violin, synths, guitar, macbook, bass;
Marek Kaminski - guitar, rhodes, synths, bass;
Mateusz Majewski - lead guitar, bass, keys
Antonello Perfetto - percussion;
Anna Spysz - rhodes, synths, bells, guitar;

New Century Classics Post Rock/Math rock

3 stars Not a bad debut from classically influenced Polish post rock band. Warm, a bit melancholic and romantic, strings based atmospheric sound. Quite various compositions, some ambient space around. Competent slightly jazzy drummer.

As myriad other post-rock bands, still not original enough to cross genre frames, but as debut, this album shows they are capable enough to play good music. Mostly down/mid tempo, their music have enough energy inside not to be sleepy. Acoustic strings arrangements aren't complex or original, but sound pleasant.

Better than average debut. Something as 2,5, rounded to 3.
