N.O.R.M.A. biography
N.O.R.M.A., an obscure Italian RIO outfit, were founded by Massimo SIMONINI (percussion, synthesizer, voices) and Tiziano POPOLI (keyboards, sampler) in early 1990s. They are known to RIO freaks as a project Gerard Antonio COATTI (trombone) or Voncenzo VASI (bass) had belonged to for a while, but the formation had been variable. N.O.R.M.A. released their eponymous album in 1992 and a compilation album named "L'Arpa E L'Asino" with Chris CUTLER in 1997.

Review by MrLandlord

5 stars One more of those cases in which a band emerges from nowhere, releases a masterpiece and returns to where it came from without leaving any explanation.

The Italians N.O.R.M.A. They took on the task of paying homage to the great Alfred Hitchcock in that very well-crafted suite on the music of "Psycho."

They also show off their elegant ability to approach jazz, avantgarde, noise, chamber, rock and in general these guys give themselves all the permission to deliver a delicious, eclectic and daring album like few others in that distant 1992.

The album has aged very well, wherever these musicians are they can feel satisfied, mission accomplished!

Thanks to DamoXt7942 for the artist addition.
