Highlight Kenosis biography
HIGHLIGHT KENOSIS is a progressive metal band founded in March of 2008 in Bucharest, Romania by vocalist Oana Maria STOICA and guitarist Matei-Damian ULMU. They changed their name from HIGHLIGHT to HIGHLIGHT KENOSIS in September 2008. The band found bassist Adi SARDI and drummer Dan ALEXANDRU to complete their lineup, and the band then proceeded to write in preparation for a number of live shows they played around Europe. At its earlier form, the band included Dragos SERBANESCU (Bass), John CIUREA (Drums) and Alexandru BEREHOI (keyboards).

It wasn't long before the band's female-led brand of progressive metal caught the attention of Ravenheart Music in England, and with a record label backing them, the band headed up to Uppsala, Sweden to record their debut album. Their debut album, ''Glowing'', was promptly released in 2009. The band then returned to touring and writing, and in May 2012 they are expected to release their sophomore effort, ''Change''.

The band's heavy progressive style is akin to the female-led English act TO-MERA as well as the virtuosic and melodic aspects of much of the progressive metal community harnessed best by the likes of DREAM THEATER and SYMPHONY X.
