417.3 biography
417.3 is a Russian post rock quintet (?) active in Rostov-on-Don since 2005. They have released one full length studio album in 2011 as a free download. Very few information on the band is currently available.

417.3 take inspiration from the classic era of post rock and its musical paradigm of long guitar crescendos adorned with sparse percussion and melancholic strings. Ambiental/industrial noises come to enrich the overall sound. The soundscapes created are vast and luminous, lacking the edgy, oppressive quality of GY!BE's music and hint more towards MONO, EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY and THE EVPATORIA REPORT.
