Blue Sun biography
BLUE SUN was a group from Copenhagen founded in 1969. They started out as a hippie band with aspirations to jazz improvisation which was showcased mostly through their live recordings which were released in the early 70's. The group disbanded and reformed several times unitl they split up in 1981, with some of the members going into a latin jazz group called NADA. Music of BLUE SUN can itself be compared to some extent to other jazz acts of Denmark at the time, like BURNIN' RED IVANHOE or RAINBOW BAND/MIDNIGHT SUN.

Review by Beautiful Scarlet

2 stars A guy talking/shouting into the microphone, some chanting and saxophone jamming over a band you can't hear because of the sound quality.

This album sounds a lot like the daevid Allen trio album, jazz is of an older style than one would expect for an artist filed under Jazz Rock/Fusion and beatnik poetry. For me the singers bluesy shouting was quite unpleasant along with the songs rambling on without direction which drive the album to its score. Additionally, while this is a live recording you should still hear the band over background sounds which is not true on Live 1971.

Overall I do not enjoy this album and would only recommend to fans of Krautrock, particularly the jazzier kind like Out Of Focus.

Thanks to evolver for the artist addition.
