Newcross biography
NEWCROSS was a short-lived outfit from the United States that released one EP in 1986, which, according to some, has a striking resemblance to the KING CRIMSON album Discipline. The drummer has recorded with the Motor Totemist Guild, Ken Ando, Cruel Frederick, and Loren Nerell; the guitarist later recorded with U-Totem. The bassist was only on this EP. Both the drummer and guitarist showed up, much later, as RAIN OF THOUGHT - A Realist's View of Hope (2000, CD only).

Review by jayem

4 stars This project reminded me of 80's King Crimson given some similar riffs, and as singer Steven Cade's voice reminds me of Belew's at times... Now the band has clearly its own ways, colours, dynamics and identity . The mixing sounds raw but I don't mind because er, ...it has its own flavour !!

Newcross leaves me the feeling of stuff worked out in emergency, and in every piece some transitions and structural elements as well as chord sequences I'd have gone for changes ; but it remains exciting for ingredients I miss very much in music of nowadays and I'd like to discover more music of that ilk, also like live Tuvalu !

Thanks to epignosis for the artist addition.
