Astronomy biography
ASTRONOMY was a little known crossover prog band founded in California in the early 90s. Riding the wave of new prog bands, ASTRONOMY produced dense, RUSH inspired music that contained heavy synth patches and popularly accessible melodies. The band founded their own record label, Eclipse Records, to release their one self-titled album in 1992. The band broke shortly after, leaving hardly any evidence of their existence. The band's music is best described as an amalgamation of 80s RUSH riffs and synth lines with 80s YES melodies with a 90s spin.
