3 stars Festival "Live Under The Sky" of the outdoors of Jazz that came to be held in Japan in 1977 faced the fifth times in 1981. Various musicians started in life the pattern as some records unfolding sublime live until lowering a curtain in 1992 as for the festival that had been held every year. Live of the main that appeared in the fifth times of this festival was special band by Herbie Hancock-Santana. And, it is at the line of Ron Carter-Tony Williams that supported the rhythm. As for this rhythm section, Herbie is already a companion who knew the temper and Trio also produces a lot of albums. They have succeeded here in contact with the trumpeter with new this time. And, they finish the recording with Trio on the next day (July 27) when this festival was made to succeed and are recording this "Quartet" that adds trumpeter's Wynton Marsalis on the next day (July 28). After it is found to Art Blakey and it participates in tours of various places from now on, Wynton is driven to the performance with Herbie. It is already true in the Marsalis brother to make the existence known to the world in Jazz Scene now and to have developed the brilliant performance. And, the name will infiltrate all over the world when Wynton to which the name was not so known at this time is performed of Herbie.

Because it is a combo that derives from the festival, the form might have the form of Trio+One. Jazz Giants is however accompanied and the performance of performed Wynton ..performance with a distinctive character that is already lofty.. has finished. The performance of Trio that has it also develops the performance in the shape touched off it very in the place where the reception desk of Wynton.

As for the flow announced continuing a famous tune of Monk, I feel even room too much. However, I entrust the evaluation Wynton's whether it perfectly merging in Trio to the fan. "Clear Ways" is a tune of Tony where the dash feeling overflows with the tune to feel V.S.O. P. It looks like V.S.O. P if it considers it as this ..continuing "A Quick Sketch".. time, too and it is finished ..the tune that Interplay by each musician feels the space that can be enjoyed... The tune of other Ron is taken up and the sense of selecting the tune of Miles is attractive enough. It is a little difficult for me whether he digested the creation of Miles that Wynton thinks about. However, I feel that the performance listened to here does the challenge that doesn't get tired with their originality surely.
