3 stars Purple Dilluvial released in 2008 is a welcome return for TD to their trademark sound. It has the year 2000 + feel to it so it is by no means the same old, same old reliable music. A refreshing difference. " Armageddon In The Rose Garden Part 11 " is a great seven minute energy burst of swirling guitars, synths and manic percussion, similar to " Leviathan", the title track " Purple Dilluvial" has a pleasant new age piano intro and a slow build to about seven minutes when the percussion and pulsing kick into action and ryhmically builds and builds until about the 13th minute where the song gently withdraws to nineteen minutes with soft backing voice overs. " Babylon The Great has Fallen" is a pleasant enough upbeat piece nothing to get overly excited about, more familair Dream Mixes territoy. A good album from Tangerine Dream but not essential.
