1 stars Space Portals is another seventy-minute microwaved drone through the emptiest part of space without ever progressing or adding any diversity. This album and its only track is indistinguishable from the previous few albums of this sort by Phrozenlight, and is entirely an insignificant release in his discography. The same problems with the previous albums still stand with Space Portals; no progression, no diversity in sound, too long for what it ultimately is. The mellow string arrangements from one of the previous albums shows up here, but it is far more subdued and barely noticeable, which is still the best part of this album.

Phrozenlight has released some great material in the past, but Space Portals is not among that great material. Every artist who records as much as Phrozenlight is susceptible to the occasional releasing of a not-so-great album, and this just happens to be one of those releases.
