3 stars The Alan Parsons Project's sophomore album sees the group finding a distinct sound that they didn't quite find on their previous. Still, the style remains mostly unchanged, for which they combine rock, pop, and even disco and funk in a progressive context.

The more proggy moments can be found in the ambient 'Nucleus' and to a certain extent 'Breakdown.' 'The Voice' has a disco like atmosphere with a lot of keyboard, but it works very well. 'Total Eclipse' marks more use of orchestral sounds to create a rather tense and abrasive atmosphere. The title track and the ending Genesis Ch 1 V 32' both have dramatic build ups that lead to a repetitive motif. The more pop sound can be found throughout, but is mostly prevalent in 'I Wouldn't Want to Be Like You,' 'Some Other Time' and 'Don't Let It Show.'

Again, this album is very accessible meaning this is a perfect starting point for people new to the genre, but still rewards those already accustomed.
