4 stars Time Grid is melodic progressive metal band coming from Switzerland with one album released so far this year 2013 named Life even their career lasting since 2001 . I was really pleasent surprise about this release, here we have everything a melodic prog metal album must have. Very nive vocal parts from Mathias Reusser and aswell from female singer Laetitia Fontannaz both voices give a very nice atmosphere and fiting perfectly into this kind of music. Now, the instrumental arrangements are more then ok, very solid are the guitar passages, specially on first 4 pieces Deceit, Emptiness, Me and on instrumental Premices the best of the album and together with the keyboards make a really awesome duo. Quie complicated pieces, remind me a lot with german prog metal band Hydrotoxin and on less extent with Dream Theater and even with Everon. Some long pieces here, all are over 6 min with some of them clocking around 11 min, with nice twists and turns, well balanced passages from mellow to more edgy ones this band really done it. Fans of melodic prog metal with nice harmonis and enjoyble vocal lines must give some spins to Life because worth it for sure. 4 stars from me.
