Time Grid biography
TIME GRID is melodic progressive metal band coming from Switzerland with one album released in January 2013 named ''Life'' even if their career started in 2001 when Steve HUBER (guitars), Remi POUSSIER (drums) and Yves MARGUET (bass) found themselves playing together in the Ecole des technologies musicales (ETM) of Geneva. With many delays, hard work in composing and further member additions and changes, the 2013 line-up, further to HUBER and POUSSIER, includes Mathias REUSSER (vocals, keyboards), Laetitia FONTANNAZ (vocals), Pierre SOTTAS (bass) and Raphael SUDAN (keyboards).

''Life'' is an excellent album alternating from progressive rock moments a la EVERON to some progressive metal touches not far as HYDROTOXIN from Germany done years ago. Beautiful female/male vocal lines going hand in hand with the music. This band from Switzerland has done a good job and their future looking bright.

Time Grid Progressive Metal

3 stars Swiss band TIME GRID can trace its origins back to 2001, when Steve Huber, Remi Poussier and Yves Marguet hooked up with each other. Mathias Reuser joined when the band was officially formed towards the end of the year, and their debut album was mostly written during the next few years. Several line-up alterations and some years later the album itself was recorded, and self-released by the band as the CD "Life" in January 2013.

Melodic progressive metal is what Time Grid provides on their debut album "Life". Not limiting themselves to a purebred progressive metal expression, they incorporate a fair few details from AOR and hard rock as well as the occasional jazz rock inspired detail in their compositions, and the keyboard textures may arguably be a tad more influenced by classical symphonic music as well. All the elements don't gel perfectly all the time on this production to my ears however, but those with a particular fancy for the most melodic oriented parts of the progressive metal style should find this disc well worth exploring.

Time Grid Progressive Metal

4 stars Time Grid is melodic progressive metal band coming from Switzerland with one album released so far this year 2013 named Life even their career lasting since 2001 . I was really pleasent surprise about this release, here we have everything a melodic prog metal album must have. Very nive vocal parts from Mathias Reusser and aswell from female singer Laetitia Fontannaz both voices give a very nice atmosphere and fiting perfectly into this kind of music. Now, the instrumental arrangements are more then ok, very solid are the guitar passages, specially on first 4 pieces Deceit, Emptiness, Me and on instrumental Premices the best of the album and together with the keyboards make a really awesome duo. Quie complicated pieces, remind me a lot with german prog metal band Hydrotoxin and on less extent with Dream Theater and even with Everon. Some long pieces here, all are over 6 min with some of them clocking around 11 min, with nice twists and turns, well balanced passages from mellow to more edgy ones this band really done it. Fans of melodic prog metal with nice harmonis and enjoyble vocal lines must give some spins to Life because worth it for sure. 4 stars from me.
