This album, kind of got lost, in its own, by then, hyper-image and publicity stunt, quiet undeservingly, considering, the almost-perfectly tight song-writing, in an almost, flawless environment... By the time of release, Peter Gabriel, had built, a very respectable, out of Genesis, solo career. His now, new language, outside GENESIS, constructed from scratch (Peter Gabriel-Car, as his first album is known), has already assimilated, all his own and "world-music" experiences, into a completely, and original other-musical personal language.

Sounds simple, ask a 100 guys, who are still trying to figure out, life outside their original bands. Small feat!! Anyway, after the very "world-music" oriented "So", the depuration in style, in this "US" album works wonders in each and for each song. The whole, is felt as a conceptual project, but the diversity of good and great songs, frees it, from being subjected to the concept, and still be part of it.

A tour throughout the best parts of PG's musical idiom, added by spectacular touches of each collaborator's limitless, energy and talent add up for a very attractive result. (So well performed, that it, later spinned-off, the also, quiet forgotten, "PLUS FROM US", an album composed by songs of each collaborator or band member.

SO?, is this an essential project, for your discography? If you appreciate a wide-spectrum in composition, without the impossition of none, and favour an all great/good-songs album, matched by great performances of every musician involved, I SUPPOSE, you will at least, give it a hearing.

And of course, if you like PG's field of action, after Genesis, I guess you already have rated it. **** 4 point something, PA stars.
