The enjoyment of playing for playing sakes!

Accompanied by the use of a recording studio as instrument (Beatle like), well this guy just pulls it off. Great thing the songs are experimental so they are not so abusively crafted, like other more specifically written ones. So it is like a controllled "jam" and small pieces of this and that.

Also Steven Wilson, headmaster of many projects, travels in this one, routes less travelled. Mainly because the songs serve no other purpose but to be played and studio-transfigured and maybe in time if remembered or because they are astounding, may serve some part of a future song or better yet become a new one.

The "Electronic" in the head title does not come for free, meaning not all here is guitar processed electronically, thus , , in todays language , there is Dub/Step and drone and "Noise" and "Industrial" stylings and like his own No-Man some Frippertronics here n there and the feel of a distant and a more relaxed P.T like sound and a less burdened Steven Wilson free form music compositions .

To me this work is "cooler" than other more serious Steven Wilson's solo works, where some stuff is over/produced and over/crafted and quiet loses its primal essence in the process. So people, if you like to listen to Steven Wilson getting down, just for fun and experimenting without the weight of some concept or band this unreleased collection will easily do the trick!

This is unpretentious , very good electronical and acoustical experimentation!

****4 "daring, contemporary and accomplished electronic music" PA stars.
