4 stars In all seriousness, this should be 4.5 stars.

This album is truly a gem. I had started listening to Blind Guardian back with the album Imaginations From The Other Side, and while it was a superb album, it was NEVER (and i mean NEVER) up to par with Night At The Opera. The music in this album is so well layered! Look at it from the standpoint of a baker. One baker challenges another baker to see who can create the best cake. The first baker finishes his, and it seems lop-sided, off balance and simply falling apart...Then you see the other baker, and his is perfectly is line, and everything is in equilibrium. This is what A Night At The Opera is...equilibrium. There are few albums i will say this about, and especially Power Metal-esk albums. Don't be fooled by the name of the album. I know it's cheesy, and probably reminds you directly of Queen's A Night At The Opera...But they are two different beasts. Personally I believe this album was a huge step from Nightfall Of Middle Earth: It was more concise, more symphonic, and just excellently executed.

Applause for one of the most unique Power/Progressive Metal bands out there!
