4 stars Another excellent addition to an exreme metal with progressive metal elements and the most progressive by MDB up to that point. The band is back to its characteristic doom metal and embraces growling too with death-metal elements that disappeared affter "The angel and the dark river".

There are many classics tracks such as "She is the dark" with its atmospheric tinge with great riff and mysterious keyboards and absolutely gloomy paradise or the title epic track. "Edenbeast" is a return to death-metal blackened style that may put off some newer MDB listeners. "Fever Sea" combines death and progressive metal elements supported by guitar and drum frequent changes.

One of the most memorable and catchy motives comes with a "poppy" "Into the lake of the ghosts" - this one could well be airplayed if not so long. "The Isis script" remotely reminds me of Opeth.

"Christliar" has great majestic keyboard layers and guitars and vocals are also kept in the background for some time to let instruments do their work.

This album remains one of my most popular by the end because it is creative, versatile and well composed/recorded.
