4 stars Shame on you MARILLION detractors!!!!... This is by far one of the greatest Marillion live records in a long time. Being a Marillion fan-to-the bone i got really surprised by the strenght of the set. Actually, the entire set list was chosen from marillion's weekend participants polls, they gave what they wanted to hear, and as Mr. H said "few old songs, few new songs and a lot of surprises", as a critic or listener you will find NO POPULAR music in here, but pure prog, and neo-prog music.

Opening with a relatively unknown song from the "pop" pack is amazing, a very calm and deep song like A FEW WRODS FOR THE DEAD, followed by the only straight rock-pop song DRY LAND, but fitted perfectly, getting you into the realm of WHEN I MEET GOD, one of the best songs from ANORAKNOPHOBIA, and what to say about WHITE RUSSIAN and then, the ambient-like, perfect song ESTONIA, that led to a very moving set with THIS TOWN/THE RAKES PROGRESS/100 NIGHTS, finishinf the first set with SUGAR MICE, a mighty set i may say!!!!

The second half opens with BERLIN, a forgotten classic, preparing everyone to hear what is considered some of the best songs from Marillion: WARM WET CIRCLES/THAT TIME OF THE NIGHT, leaving the audience astonished, and starting with the almighty SCRIPT FOR A JESTER'S TEAR, the bravery and emotion in it's peak!!!!, after that you want to know something more, and thats when THIS STRANGE ENGINE starts, a 22 minute plus version mixing, ambient needs and rock needs, a must hear... finishing the whole concert with nothing else but THE SPACE, the great ending, the perfect set... a great night to be remembered... and that's why this live record stand out from the crowd.

Some say the artwork is "simple" or "ugly" i may say is GREAT, being an architect and designer i'm pleased to see well thought cd-covers that explains nothing but the motif. Anyway... this is a great record, a great performance and a great set-list, a must buy and a perfect addition to ANY record collection.

peace
