3 stars a sadly disjointed album. But that can be tolerated, as I said in the "Momentary Lapse of Reason" review, you can't expect the music to stay the same if you lose the leading band member. For that, the album can't be taken to harshly.

Reviewing this album 35 years and many albums later, this work can be seen as the turning point in thier career that would lead to "Dark Side of the Moon". While strikingly different from "A Saucerful of Secrets". Following this album thier is a neat transition (More- Ummagumma-Atom Heart Mother-Meddle-DSOTM) that would lead to thier masterpiece.

Still, this alvum has too many problems to give it a good rating. Essential for the early PF fans or to those who want to see where their music turned away from the sound of "piper at the Gates of Dawn". This album marks the beginning of thier expiremental phase and is worth at least one listen

The highlights: the concert staples between 1969 and 1971 "Cymbaline" and "Green is the Colour" . "The Nile Song" and "Ibiza Bar" are both nice rockers, though containg cheesy lyrics. And some enjoy "Cirrus Minor" but I don't care much for it

The dull parts are "Up the Khyber", a pointless instrumental, and "Dramatic Theme"

Alone, it desrves only two stars, but it earns another since it shows the direction this band would soon take and the masterpieces that would come soon after
