3 stars Nothing like some classic Rush to soothe the soul. This single from 1977, contains 5t and a half minutes of great Rush. First is "Closer to the Heart" and the flip side is "Madrigal". Both tunes are taken from A FAREWELL TO KINGS, one of my favorite albums by Rush. Nothing different here than on the original album, but for a Rush completionist or collector this is a nice find. If you can find it. I had this until recently when I sold a lot of old singles. Neither is a long classic Rush progressive song, but they still play these live I believe.

3 stars Yet another Rush single from "2112" worth purchasing for the completist who must have all things Rush, of which I am one. Again this is one you might find in a second hand store these days, and if so it is a definite worthwhile purchase as it is quite rare, especially with that picture sleeve with the "2112" logo. The songs on it are of course from "A Farewell to Kings" and have become live staples over the years.

'Closer to the Heart' is the most accessible and that is the reason it was the single off the album. Since, it has been played ad infinitum live in concert, captured beautifully on the live masterpiece "Different Stages". It also features on all Rush compilations so it is not hard to locate.

On the flip side is a throwaway with 'Madrigal', a short 2 ˝ minute blast that was rather forgettable on the album but is okay as a B side. Overall, collectors should grab this if they see it at a second hand dealer, as it's a rarity in the days when vinyl was all we had. 3 stars for the rarity and picture sleeve.
