2 stars I had this. 'Had' being the operative word. Pretty much a waste of time, these mid-80s extended or dance mixes. Very few added anything to the featured song, and that is certainly the case here. None of the tracks are poor, but none are anywhere near as good as the originals (which, in my opinion, are not among GABRIEL'S best anyway). I don't imagine it's easy to find now, which is good, because you'll be able to resist the temptation.

2 stars This 12-inch single release of Peter Gabriel's Big Time was very much like what others were doing at the time. Getting some producer take the original recording and remix it into a lovely danceable number suited for the dance clubs of the time. As you can imagine, the results are typically horrendous. And such is the case with this.

Side B contained some sort of special remix of In Your Eyes, plus the LP version of We Do What We're Told (Milgram's 37). The last song is the only really interesting song for it's powerful lyrics and strange ambient soundscape. The other two songs are forgettable top 40 fodder, both not as good as the originals from Gabriel's So album.

Clearly for collectors, die-hard fans, and completionists. I suspect this 12-inch single is quite rare nowadays, so at the very least the search for it might be a challenge. Two stars.
