3 stars To get the whole story on Kate one must see her videos which showcase her unique talents in the visual realm. She is as in control there as on her studio albums.

Her early videos are charming and intimate and I don't find them corny at all. Yes the production values were not the manic edit style of today but that makes them better, not worse. Her "Hounds" era videos are much more plot oriented mini films and are just as strong as the album itself. Cloudbusting even features a special guest actor whom everyone will recognize.

These videos are essential viewing for Kate fans though they left off a few videos that make people buy the earlier Single File collection, a rather lame move for a release entitled "The Whole Story." Actually The Single File is the one to get, as it includes a slightly better mix of titles. What is sorely needed is a definitive Kate Bush DVD set which includes ALL of her video releases and the restored Hammersmith concert with the full set. One can dream, eh?
