And what can I say about this album? Just one of the best things I´ve heard in my whole life! And absolute and ignored masterpice, like the whole career of this great band!

Everon is a german band that makes a kind of symphonic hard rock with a lot of metal influences, but with some tracks very close to AOR feelings or melodic hard rock too... They are very variated, and every album is different too. But they have a very distinctive and personal style that make his music very original! I think the most important thing this band have is the amount of feelings, sensibility and passion they put in every song they made...

This album opens with a powerful introduction called Bridge-Theme, with a very catchy melody, the one that sounds if you get into the Everon webpage Everon.com...

Fantastically linked to Bridge-Theme comes Across The Land, an epic hard rocking song with marvellous lyrics! The guitar solo it´s amazing, like the outstanding sound of the drums. How can Christian Moos get this sound from his drums? I will never know, but it´s simply the best drums´s sound I´ve ever heard!

Juliet it´s like a kind of tragic-romantic love theme, with an incredibly catchy choir and with an apoteosic ending section with growls making the sentence "...Saying I love You"! Just amazing song!

Travelling Shoes has a wonderful lyric about friendship. It´s a short song wonderfully played with spanish guitars, and it´s just a kind of introduction for the next track called...

Driven start like another romantic sad song, but the choir breaks into a savage metal riffing. The second choir leads to a powerful bridge section with outstanding drumming and guitar playing. Fantastic.

If you Were Still Mine is one of my favourites tracks of the album. It´s a great ballad with very heart touching lyrics, and a great piano melody... The firt time I heard this song it just make me cry...I feel very identified with the feeling this song give. I would do all of this for her too...

Ten Years Late follow the line of Across the Land. Prog hard rock with many changes and incredible guitar solo! Oliver Philip could be a true guitar hero If he would play another kind of music, I´m sure...

Not This Time is a slow song with a lot of gotic moods! In the same way of Until The Day Breaks of the Everon´s album "Venus". Darker, more depressive, but as good as the rest!

Puppet Show is an instrumental very indicated for prog-metalheads, with an absolute INCREDIBLE guitar playing and drumming. This short song easily surpases in quality of sound and playing almost everything that Dream Theater have done in their whole career! I´m not kidding...

Carousel is a song writen by the second Everon´s guitarist, Uli Hoever, it´s more rockier and guitar oriented than the rest, but it´s still a great song. The choir is very good, like the marvellous guitar solo and strong ending.

Harbour is another of my favourite tracks on the album. Is an AOR tune with fun romantic lyrics and a very catchy choir...With another powerful and bombastic central bridge in the same style of In You Were Still Mine. The way of Everon mix the melodic and romantic parts with powerful and heavy others it´s just amazing! Just hear this song...

Bridge closes this albums magistrally. This is another dark song with a very melodic opening, of guitar and piano. After that comes a dark and opressive section that leads to a short but incredibly well played and positive guitar solo...To ending with the same and catchy melody of the beginning of the album. The final sounds of the album are a beautiful piano chords that Oliver Phillips borrowed from Billy Joel! Read the album booklet for explanations...

Conclusion: one of the best albums I´ve heard in my life. All music lovers must have this jewel! Everon is undoubtly one of the most beautiful and valuable hidden treasures of the history of music...

Again I'm going to make it a short review for an Everon album and that's mainly because it's a very equable album where the style is concerned. That is with exeption of Harbour and the title track that are slightly more sensitive. But for the other tracks Bridge is a pretty rough album for Everon standard. I even hear a growl in the beginning which almost sounds unreal to me, it sounds a bit forced when Everon does something like this.

Everon is a very distinguished sounding band that can indeed play the rougher style as well but I like them somewhat better when they are playing their more ballad-like songs. Eventhough I'm a prog metal fan I have to add. I'm a bit surprised myself that I'm saying this but yes I like the more quiet Everon really so it will not be surprising the last two songs are my favourites of the album.

The rest sounds over the top to me, not that it's bad by any means, I believe Everon do no bad stuff, but it's not the best Everon you will ever hear. That's why I give it 3 stars and recommend it (of course) to those who like Everon from their first 4 albums but would want them to sound a bit heavier.

This band was such a pleasant surprise for me when I discovered them through their "Fantasma" record. What makes them somewhat unique in the Prog world is that their focus lyrically is on love and relationships, plus they are so darn emotional. I really think singer, lyricist, keyboardist and lead guitarist Oliver Philipps is one of the most talented men i've come across. This particular album "Bridge" continues with the topic of relationships, and the emotion is again pouring out of this record. How does he do that ?

"Bridge Theme" is a 2 minute intro of what sounds like a toy xylophone or something with fragile vocals. What is so cool is that same melody that was just played so simply is repeated powerfully by the whole band. Killer guitar ends it as it blends into "Across The Land" where vocals come in passionately. Piano and vocals are contrasted with the full sound throughout. The guitar starts to rip it up after 2 minutes. "Juliet" features percussion and vocals. The vocals get passionate as themes are repeated. The song ends with a growl. "Travelling Shoes" is an emotional ballad of fragile vocals, acoustic guitar and synths. "Driven" opens with beautiful guitar as vocals and drums arrive. Riffs a minute in as vocals get angry and the sound powerful. It's about the emotions of this man who is trying to forgive his partner. "If You Were Still Mine" in contrast to the last song shows him when he has healed and forgiven, and he relates to her that if she was still his he would ... and lists all the things. So emotional. Unbelieveable. Piano and drums mostly with heartbreaking lyrics. My God. The sound becomes fuller on the chorus. Some power 3 1/2 minutes in with an uplifting guitar solo.

"Ten Years Late" is a bombastic tune. I like the section before 3 minutes where the guitar starts to peel the paint. "Not The Time" opens with piano as fragile vocals and synths join in. Powerful soundscape 2 minutes in. This contrast continues. Incredibly emotional lyrics on this one. Too close to home for me. "Puppet Show" is an instrumental where they seem to be having a lot of fun. These guys are phenomenal players. "Carousel" is heavy with vocals. "Harbour" again has some amazing lyrics that are eerily close to home once again. So emotional especially the chorus. You are awesome Oliver ! "Bridge" opens with piano before guitar joins in. Synths 1 1/2 minutes in as vocals then full sound arrive. Riffs follow. Blistering guitar 4 minutes in. A catchy rhythm before 5 minutes. Piano ends it. Funny, but Oliver writes a small letter to Billy Joel apologizing for borrowing some of his chords in the outro. He says "I was aware of what I was doing, but it just fitted so nicely I couldn't resist." Then he tells him to feel free to borrow something from EVERON's music if he so wishes. Haha.

This album isn't as good as "Fantasma" in my opinion, but it's still worth 4 stars.

Bridge is their sixth studio album and aswell their second from the same year 2002. Another good album but not over the top, is in the same vein with the predecesors. Something worth mentioning is that Everon release albums with a constant quality, I mean every single album is good and has something to offer, one of those bands that realy knows to make the listner stays with ears opened all the time. This band don't have highs and lows, Everon has only highs from the beggining, well of course their albums never reaches the masterpiece status in my opinion, but for sure all are good and worth listning by everybody intrested in good music. Now about Bridge from 2002, not very much , just is another well done Everon album, with again slower and mellower parts combined very well with harder ones. The voice of Oliver Philips is a real pleasure to listen, he can make an album shine in every sens , even the instrumental passage are usual many times. The best pieces are all, not one in front, all has sae level. Intristing is that I never considered this band as heavy prog, maybe something between neo prog and here and there some eclectic passages, they remind me in places with Enchant. Anyway this Bridge album is again a good one , no doubt, but again I'm not realy pushed to give more than 3 stars.
