3 stars Das Romantische Opfer is a live EP ( CupDisc) from the Loreley Open Air Theatre and is a great piece of music. The album kicks off immediately with a warm hypnotic beat. After about 5 minutes the meanderings start changing direction slightly and midway through the sixth minute a drum loop starts up with Edgar Froese playing some great lead guitar. I am assuming from the sleeve notes that EF was the only member playing on this release. Froese's guitar playing gets more frenzied toward the end of the album making for a nice climax. It must have been great to see TD in an open air concert as the mood makes for a very pleasant recording.
